This is an archival record of materials for use
with older editions of two of Peter Ladefoged's textbooks, same as the CDs that came with them. Newer editions have newer CDs and/or publishers' websites.

audio files used on this site, in contrast, belong to many different
people, so that permission for their use outside the site cannot be
given. However, our understanding is that educational use is freely
permitted by the original owners. And of course anyone may link to any
of these pages for any purpose.
Note: This is NOT the UCLA Phonetics Archive, completed
in Dec. 2008 with NSF funding.
This page (Phonetics Lab Data) is phonetics teaching materials
compiled from the lab's collection by Peter and Jenny Ladefoged (originally "Sounds of the World's Languages").
The Phonetics Archive contains unedited audio recordings and wordlists
by Peter, colleagues, and many students, intended for research use.
